Congress at Work

As we approach the November elections, Congress in a burst of bi-partition lust, has passed a stimulus package that will give all taxpayers at least $600.00, or if a family considerably more. It stated goal is to get money into the hands of taxpayers who will spend it as soon as possible, thereby stimulating the economy.

Deficits added to deficits. But here we have a unique opportunity to see this in a different light. We borrow money from the, Chinese, Koreans and Japanese, in order to fund our current deficit, of hundreds of billions of dollars.  We have a new “spending plan” for an additional 150 billion to add to the pot.  This with the  goal of having our citizens buy goods at Wal Mart, and K Mart, which are made in China, Korea and Japan. Does this make sense?

Yes indeed they must be certainly happy with the American consumer; we pay for this one on both sides of the taxpayer’s hides. We get a weaker dollar, trade imbalances, inflation, and deficits. As for our trading partners, they can’t wait to get in line to keep their economy humming, their citizens happy, and we tax payers will foot the bill for this for a long time to come.

What happened to the ideals of Americans, that savings, paying off credit card debt, and planning for the future was of value. We run the risk of inflation destroying our American dreams. American values have been subjugated by Congress as they expand their idea of America: spend and consume, and Congress will help you do just that!!!!
